Shopping and Services around The Central, in the Gare District
There’s a Delhaize supermarket right next to the train station and a Monoprix Supermarket on Rue du Fort Bourbon, also open on Sundays, only few steps from our building. You’ll find fresh fruit and vegetables and groceries at Alima Gare at 1 rue Charles VI and at Thym & Citron at 50 rue de Strasbourg.
There is a Balkan food shop at 50 Rue du Fort Neipperg, just around the corner, with a Russian Market on 16-18 Rue de Bonnevoie, and an Asian store, Dafa, selling Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Thai and African food products. SK Cash n Carry sells Indian and African products, and there’s Asia Market on Rue du Fort Elisabeth. Ma Boucherie, on Rue de Strasbourg sells Hallal meat and you’ll find another butcher, Emo Alima Gare, the other side of town. Recently Cocottes opened a new shop in 6 Rue de Bonnevoie, literally behind the corner from our building: it is a great alternative for every meal of the day, both eat-in or take-away.
Beauty products can be found at Yves Rocher at 32 Avenue de la Gare and Parfumerie Paris 8 next-door to our building with ICI Paris located near the station. If you’re planning on tying the knot, you can buy an engagement ring at jeweller’s Alexandre Rosenberg.

Saturn can handle your computer, telecom and photography needs. Promoculture gets a thumbs up for its collection of educational books. The Gare district has a primary school on Rue du Commerce and the Private School Fieldgen located at 21 Rue d’Anvers, very close to the Zithka Klinik providing reliable medical services.
In the area you’ll find a Maison du Monde for reasonably priced furniture and home accessories, and HEMA for low cost clothing. For stylish children’s options there’s an Okaidi, or for sustainable clothing try Akabo. You’ll find a Footlocker and DEVRED 1902, WE fashion store and Mango, all on Rue de la Gare.
It is worth to mention on a special note Place de Paris, the main square located in the heart of the Gare District, because it is undergoing a radical transformation. The square is being renovated as part of the construction of the new tram route that will connect the airport to the Old Town and finally the train station. Place de Paris is becoming the centre of Gare social life, with cool bars and restaurants such as Strogoff recently opening.
